Kuvasz Rover Team

Introduction

We are a team of Hungarian university students building a mars rover for the European Rover Challenge. We will take part in the On-site formula in 2026. Building the rover requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science. Good teamwork and communication is also crucial for combining the previously mentioned areas. Our rover's functions can be grouped in 3 main units: drive system, a robotic arm, and the main system that connects everything, and controls the subsystems autonomously. In the picture you can see an early prototype of our rover (without the robotic arm so far).

Emerging team

This year is the first time our young group is taking part in this challenge. Even though our team is small and this competition is bigger than anything we have done before, we have confidence in ourselves. Many of us have already had experience in building a CanSat for the Hungarian competition, while others have worked on other STEM related hobby projects, and every single member is willing to improve themselves and learn new things. We know that winning ERC in our first year is highly unlikely, so our main goal is to establish ourselves, learn, gain experience, and get better and better each year.
